Course ContentThis course will address fundamental, theoretical, and practical questions that result from a view of art as a powerful social and cultural force. As a participant you will have an opportunity to examine your own aesthetic values as well as others and explore how art both forms culture and is a voice of culture. You will expand your understanding of art as a language and advance multicultural and cross-cultural understanding. Emphasis will be placed upon individual interpretation and experience in local, national and international settings. Distance Delivery MethodsThis class will utilize a web site, online course readings, e-mail correspondence, and independent field trips. It is expected that students will complete the course within the term, as you would if this were a classroom course. TuitionThis is a "self-support" course. The course fee is listed above. This fee is paid regardless of student residency status or total course load. This fee replaces regular tuition for the four-credit courses. For more information on tuition consult the Registrar's Office. Course fees are subject to change at anytime.
